General Summary:

Directs, communicates, coordinates and manages activities involved in the planning, testing and implementation of new and current ammunition projects. Interacts with Production and R&D to develop and implement all aspects of new ammunition designs, processes and manufacturing equipment. Responsible for creating, coordinating, and implementing new ammunition packaging plans and product updates used to package new and existing ammunition products.

Principal Duties and Accountabilities (Essential Functions)

  • Provide support to all engineering and manufacturing processes within the Ammunition Loading department.
  • Work with Plant Leadership to initiate and implement cost savings improvements in processes and work methods, including capital projects and implementation.
  • Evaluate and implement improvements to the manufacturing processes to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Analyze and improve safety practices.
  • Analyze problems by collecting and compiling data to propose the best course of action for resolution.
  • Engage in incident investigations to determine root cause and implement corrective actions.
  • Research and provide justification for new equipment and/or manufacturing processes.
  • Create and maintain travelers and process records.
  • Develop standard work instructions for new and existing processes and products.
  • Provide technical assistance to component and tooling suppliers.
  • Manage and maintain all ammunition related activities in ERP system. (Creates and maintains components, Halb’s, FINP’s, BOM’s, Routings, prepares cost rolls and places orders).
  • Manage and maintain all ammunition packaging plans (packaging materials, barcodes, labels and die lines)
  • Contribute to the refresh of current artwork and on new artwork designs for packaging.
  • Participate in research & development for new products and processes.
  • May be required to travel, attending offsite training or trade shows, etc. and interface with customers and suppliers.
  • May be called upon after standard hours, weekends, or during 2nd or 3rd shifts, if necessary, to support production.

General Summary:

Provide direct, daily leadership to production employees in the department focusing on core operational values of safety, quality, cost management, and conformance to production schedules to satisfy customer requirements. The Production Supervisor is responsible for all component bullet production in the department, ensuring compliance to production commitments, training employees, completing reports on production progress, materials inventory management, and manufacturing costs.

  • Drive continual improvements and eliminate waste in areas such as but not limited to safety, process reliability, product quality productivity, manufacturing costs, and schedule performance

  • Perform cycle counts of RAW and HALB material inventories

General Summary:

An employee hired for general production is expected to show initiative and willingness to learn the operations, setups, paperwork and mechanical knowledge in one of the general production areas (TSX, Shear Cutter/Tipper or Wash).  Employee is proficient at the setup, operation, maintenance, troubleshooting and paperwork in one of the main areas in the General Production Department.   • Must be proficient in set-ups, operation, maintenance and troubleshooting equipment in one main area of General Production
  • Must be able to efficiently use tools of each area (caliper, dial indicator, micrometer and an optical comparator)
  • Must be able to perform all required inspections and checks and document data in SPC software
  • Complete, on a daily basis all paperwork, including inspections sheets, forms, logs and checklists
  • Adhere to area 5S standards and work on CI projects for department
  • Must always follow procedures
  • Must be able to report to the lead operator, Production Supervisor and coworkers with a positive attitude
  • Must work closely with the Tooling Crib Supervisor to keep tooling up-dated, organized and logged out properly
  • Responsible for the product produced during his/her shift
  • Must keep area clear and clean of oil, slugs and bullets on the floor
  • Must be willing to rotate shifts or shift work may be required on a permanent basis                                        (Monday – Thursday 6:00 am – 4:30 pm, Monday – Thursday 4:00 pm – 2:30 am and Friday, Saturday, Sunday 6:00 am – 6:30 pm)

Develops monthly, weekly, and daily production plans designed to meet the specific requirements of the Master Production Schedule.

  • Develops a capacity plan, considering machine capabilities, known capacity constraints and other factors which may affect the successful fulfillment of the Master Production Schedule requirements.
  • Finalizes specific monthly production plans with the Department Supervisors.
  • Interfaces daily with Product Management and Sales, collecting updates on product demand and communicating changes in scheduled production due to manufacturing related difficulties.
  • Interfaces daily with Production Planners, communicating changes in demand, gain understanding of manufacturing related opportunities that may be preventing accomplishment of the production schedule, and ascertain agreement on changes in the MPS that are inside of established product lead-times.
  • Make daily adjustments to the MPS based upon all the inputs collected and communicate those changes to all the appropriate people. 
  • Assist process engineering in developing and verifying bill of material, routing, equipment, and other critical master data to ensure accurate information in the ERP system.
  • Co-ordinates the fulfillment of customer orders ultimately shipped from the Mona facility.
  • Communicates with all necessary parties missed production, providing information as to the root cause and corrective action taken to meet the original requirement.
  • Develops an MPS that allows the business to meet targeted finished goods inventory levels.  Identifies slow moving inventory, product repack potentials, and other inventory reduction opportunities.
  • Works directly with responsible R & D engineers on scheduling experimental and trial & pilot production for new products introductions.
  • Review, plan, schedule and co-ordinate estimated completion dates on OEM orders.
  • Handles purchasing materials required to meet production needs.
  • For those areas specifically assigned, directly plans and communicates raw material requirements with raw material suppliers. Co-ordinates all necessary activities with the supplier, purchasing, and other internal personnel to ensure timely delivery of raw materials.
  • Responsible for overseeing bullet raw material cycle counting on a monthly basis and submit accurate counts using the MRP system.
  • Must be willing to maintain clean forklift certification, if necessary.
  • Must be willing and able to work more than regularly scheduled hours when necessary.
  • Regular and consistent attendance is required.

  • Strong working knowledge of MRP and inventory management principles.  APICS or CSCP Certification desired.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
  • Possess strong written and verbal communication skills.  Effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers ,and the general public.
  • Strong practical problem solving skills.

General Summary:

An individual who is proficient in the operation and maintenance of the bullet transfer presses. Individual will perform minor operational changes to press to achieve bullet specifications. Individual must have a clear understanding and knowledge of all the measurements taken and recorded during normal operation of press. Will be engaged in learning the troubleshooting process and fundamentals of bullet production according to department specifications.

  • Must understand all procedures and operations for correctly operating a transfer press
  • Responsible for the daily maintenance of bullet transfer press
  • Must be able to accurately inspect bullets both visually and dimensionally, using the appropriate tools in the department
  • Must be able to detect problems with bullets visually and dimensionally and produce each bullet to specifications
  • Must diagnose and fix problems concerning accuracy and function
  • Must be able to read and follow all setup records, history sheets and procedures
  • Complete Maintenance, Start of Shift and LPA checklists
  • Must be able to record all necessary paperwork legibly and accurately
  • Must listen and follow instruction from Lead and Press Supervisor
  • Must be alert, aware and able to follow company safety policies
  • Must clearly communicate requisitioned needs for tooling and supplies to the Press Lead or Supervisor in a timely manner
  • Must maintain a clean, orderly, and safe shop environment
  • Must be willing to rotate shifts or shift work may be required on a permanent basis                                        (Monday – Thursday 6:00 am – 4:30 pm and Monday – Thursday 4:00 pm – 2:30 am)
