General Summary:
The Quality Control Inspection Level II operates the automated inspection machine, maintains quality standards by conducting incoming materials, in-process production, and finished product inspections while recording quality results.
Details:
Principal Duties and Accountabilities (Essential Functions)
Follows the documented procedures for process control, testing, and inspection
Operates automated inspection machine
Conducts visual and measurement inspections on incoming material, in-process production, and finished products
Adheres to production scheduling for receiving inspections, in-process inspection, and final inspections
Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs
Participates in the preliminary disposition of non-conformances
Aid with in-house calibration and control of monitoring and measuring equipment
Assist as a quality control resource for problem identification, resolution, and reporting
Participates in quality improvement activities (e.g.: Kaizen, Six Sigma) to raise the performance of the company’s values streams
Maintains effective and safe work environment by following standards and procedures
Suggests and implements changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase safety and efficiency of shop, department, or work crews
Assist with QMS as directed by Quality Assurance Lead/Quality Assurance Manager
Other duties as delegated by the Quality Assurance Manager/Lead/Quality Control Inspector, Level III
Must be willing to rotate shifts or shift work may be required on a permanent basis (Monday – Thursday 6:00 am – 4:30 pm, Monday – Thursday 4:00 pm – 2:30 am and Friday, Saturday, Sunday 6:00 am – 6:30 pm)
Must be willing and able to work overtime when necessary
Education, Skills, and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent
Prior experience working in a Quality Assurance environment or related field preferred
Good reading skills and able to follow procedures/instructions correctly
Good writing skills and able to fill out paperwork correctly and legibly
Must have good math skills, i.e. addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division with an understanding of decimals
Must be able to accurately use Quality tools, such as: micrometer, calipers and optical comparator
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
Good balance of authority and diplomacy
Needs to be willing to be trained in all aspects of the company
Personal drive and ambition to initiate and complete projects
Proficient in Excel, Word and other computer programs
Attention to detail
Must be able to read and properly interpret blue prints
Team player
Comfortable working in a fast paced and rapidly changing environment
Good problem-solving skills
Ability to speak, read and write in the English language sufficient enough to perform the following:
- Communicate effectively with other team members and supervision
- Read and comprehend process instructions
- Record pertinent process information as required

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather and underground contained conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, but is often loud in specified areas. Hearing and eye protection is provided.
Safety Shoes meeting OSHA/ANSI Z-41 specifications are required for anyone working in the production department. Anyone working on the ammunition loading equipment or working in the Ballistic Lab are also required to have electrostatic dissipative (ESD) shoes.

Good hearing and listening habits to determine abnormal machines noises
Good visual skills to determine bullet defects and flaws
Good hygiene and grooming habits, long hair must be pulled back, no loose clothing or exposed midriffs, closed toed shoes required
Position requires a great deal of movement and standing on your feet up to 100% of the day
Ability to climb ladders and stairs both ascending and descending using feet and hands
Ability to lift, balance and maneuver up to 50 lbs while standing on a ladder
Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs
Ability to push and pull carts up to 1500 lbs
Ability to kneel, crouch, reach and stoop
