Senior Accountant

General Summary

Working under the supervision of the controller, the senior accountant will assist in maintaining the financial reporting, records, and general ledger accounts for Barnes Bullets.  The senior accountant will also perform account receivable functions, such as reviewing new customer applications, performing credit checks and managing collections.

Principal Duties and Accountabilities (*Essential Functions)
Prepare routine monthly general ledger journal entries by maintaining and recording files.

Assigned duties within the accounts receivable sectors.

Perform general accounts analysis and reconciliations, including bank statements, fixed assets, accruals, petty cash and prepaid expenses. 

Provide support for the preparation of schedules and documents for external auditors.

Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial statements, budgets, and forecasts as needed.  

Support in the monthly, quarterly and yearly close process.

Assists with tracking, collection and payment of all business-related taxes.

Assist in monthly and daily reconciliations of inventory cycle counts.

Collections of past due balances.

Responsible to assist in the design and implementation of new accounting and control systems in accordance with SOX requirements.

Assist the Controller with special projects and duties as assigned.


Educational, Skills, and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.  A Master of Accountancy is preferred, but not necessary.

2 years accounting experience in a manufacturing environment or 2 years public accounting.

SAP or similar ERP experience preferred, but not necessary.

 

Proficient in Excel, Outlook, and Word.

 

Must be a team player, organized, detail oriented and have the ability to multi-task.

 

Ability to speak, read and write in the English language sufficiently enough to perform the following:
