General Summary:

To oversee distribution and control of tooling, parts and supplies throughout the entire manufacturing facility.  This person is proficient in all aspects of the inventory control process. They must also help create and implement Standard Operating Procedures for inventory control and be able to motivate and encourage others to achieve maximum productivity.

Details:

Principal Duties and Accountabilities (Essential Functions)

  • Review and monitor bullet schedule to ensure preparation of all needed tooling and supplies for upcoming jobs

  • Maintain and track inventory for all supplies needed throughout the Production Dept. (Including but not limited to raw material, dies and punches, bullet tips, janitorial, hardware, etc.)
  • Must consistently keep traveler paperwork updated and accurate

 

  • Prepare setup kits for production and review setup kits after they are returned from the Press area

 

  • Record supplies as checked out into the E-crib/General Inventory Spreadsheet so items can be tracked and re-ordered by Tool Crib Lead

 

  • Work closely with all areas of production to keep supplies stocked

 

  • Must work closely with the Tooling Crib Lead to keep tooling updated, organized, logged out and in good working order

 

  • Maintain a clean, safe and organized work environment

 

  • Help create, implement and follow “Standard Operating Procedures”

 

  • Drive company vehicle to pick up/deliver items to customers/vendors

 

  • Shift will be Monday – Thursday 7:00 am – 5:30 pm, but could change, if production schedules change.

 

  • Must be willing to work overtime when necessary.

Education, Skills, and Experience

  • Basic mechanical skills
  • Experience with process improvement
  • Computer experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Software
  • Good reading skills and be able to create and follow procedures correctly
  • Good writing skills and be able to fill out paperwork correctly and legibly
  • Must have good math skills, i.e. addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
  • Must have excellent communication skills
  • Punctuality and reliability is a must
  • Ability to speak, read and write in the English language sufficient enough to perform the following: 
    • Communicate effectively with other team members and supervision
    • Read and comprehend process instructions
    • Record pertinent process information as required
  • Must be able to efficiently use calipers, micrometer and comparator and/or basic tools.

  • Must have valid driver’s license

Personal Tool Requirements

Including but not limited to. These tools must be calibrated and kept in good working order.

  • 0-1” micrometer (.0001 increments)
  • 0-8” caliper (.001 increments)

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, but is often loud in specified areas. Hearing and eye protection is provided. 

  • Safety Shoes meeting OSHA/ANSI Z-41 specifications are required for anyone working in the production department. Anyone working on the ammunition loading equipment or working in the Ballistic Lab are also required to have electrostatic dissipative (ESD) shoes.

  • Hearing and listening habits to determine abnormal machine noises

  • Good visual skills to determine defects and flaws in parts 
  • Good hygiene and grooming habits, long hair must be pulled back, no loose clothing or exposed midriffs, no shorts and closed toed shoes required. 
  • Position requires a great deal of movement and standing on your feet up to 100% of the day
  • Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs 
  • Ability to kneel, crouch, reach and stoop
