General Summary:

Perform and manage receiving tasks. Oversees Receiving Clerks.  Ensure that materials are being properly handled and moved, both physically and within the ERP system. Maintain inventory and perform cycle counts.  Coordinate moving material between the main facility and an off-site storage location.

Principal Duties and Accountabilities (Essential Functions)

  • Verify the packing slip description and quantities matches the items delivered
  • Ensure delivered items are correctly entered into ERP system or are otherwise accounted for
  • Moves material location, both physically and within the ERP system
  • Perform material cycle counts on raw material and in-house components and provide adjustment feedback, when necessary
  • Unload incoming product and materials from trucks
  • Ensure received items are identified, properly stored, staged or delivered in a timely manner as needed
  • Work with production supervisors to ensure product is sufficiently staged to accommodate and support production needs
  • Return unused product from the production floor to a storage location
  • Coordinate the delivery and return of product from an off-site warehouse
  • Drive a delivery box-truck to move materials to the off-site warehouse
  • Adjust shelving units to maximize storing efficiency
  • Oversees the Receiving Clerk and coordinates receiving activities
  • Other duties as delegated by Management
  • Shift work may be required on an as needed or permanent basis

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must possess and maintain a current valid Driver’s License
  • Preferred one year forklift experience
  • Previous experience working in a Receiving environment or related field
  • Good reading skills and able to follow procedures/instructions correctly
  • Good writing skills and able to fill out paperwork correctly and legibly
  • Must have good math skills, i.e. addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division with an understanding of decimals
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be detailed oriented and organized
  • Must be able to multi-task and work well under pressure
  • Needs to be teachable (Willing to be trained in all aspects of the company)
  • Personal drive and ambition to initiate and complete projects
  • Must be punctual, reliable and honest
  • Proficient in Excel, Word and other computer programs
  • Team process background/Team player
  • Comfortable working in a fast paced and rapidly changing environment
  • Good problem solving skills 
  • Ability to speak, read and write in the English language sufficient enough to perform the following:
    • Communicate effectively with other team members and supervision
    • Read and comprehend process instructions
    • Record pertinent process information as required

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather and underground contained conditions.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, but is often loud in specified areas.  Hearing and eye protection is provided. 

Safety Shoes meeting OSHA/ANSI Z-41 specifications are required for anyone working in the production department. Anyone working on the ammunition loading equipment or working in the Ballistic Lab are also required to have electrostatic dissipative (ESD) shoes.

  • Good hearing and listening habits to determine abnormal machines noises
  • Good visual skills to determine bullet defects and flaws 
  • Sight, hearing, and physical capability to drive a large cargo truck on freeways and side roads safely 
  • Good hygiene and grooming habits, long hair must be pulled back, no loose clothing or exposed midriffs, closed toed shoes required
  • Position requires a great deal of movement and standing on your feet up to 100% of the day 
  • Ability to climb ladders and stairs both ascending and descending using feet and hands 
  • Ability to lift, balance and maneuver up to 40 lbs while standing on a ladder 
  • Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 40 lbs 
  • Ability to push and pull carts up to 1500 lbs 
  • Ability to kneel, crouch, reach and stoop
