Karen Lutto
I am a graduate of San Jose State University with a B.A. In public relations. I did graduate work at VCU in communications. I have worked in public relations since 1986 as an intern in Silicon Valley, and started my own PR firm in 1996.
I did not grow up hunting. I did fish when I was a child, and spent a great deal of time in the outdoors. However, I didn’t begin hunting until I was in my 20s. Now, all of my clientele are in the outdoor industry.
I currently hunt all over the world. I love the experiences I’ve had and meeting new people. I especially enjoyed Africa and Greece, and the opportunity to meet the local villagers. I still keep in touch with many of the people I’ve met over the years while hunting. They’ve become long- time friends!
I have taken both of my children hunting, and was with each of them when they harvested their first big game. Ashley, now 16, took a fallow deer at age 11. Hunter, who is now 12 took, a Texas Dahl at age 8. Hunter continues to hunt with me all over the country, but Ashley’s social life currently takes precedent over hunting.
It has been a great pleasure passing this tradition on to my children. I enjoy the time I get to spend with my kids out in the field.
I am very fortunate that my business and passion overlap in such a manner. Everyone should be so lucky.
