When I met my husband in 1983, the whole world changed for me. He grew up in Zambia with his “old hunter” father. I was raised in a very strict, conservative home, with few opportunities for women except doing your best in school and coming home with good grades. After our marriage in 1985, we lived out in the country, where I was forced to do things I had never done before. The whole world opened up for me. I became connected with nature—the most wonderful and pure connection one can have.
I qualified as a professional hunter in 1991 and started guiding hunts on a part-time basis while I was still raising our two beautiful girls. Once they graduated and went their own ways, I started guiding hunts on a full-time basis. We have an exclusive hunting outfit in Namibia called “CEC SAFARIS,” and work mainly with American clients. My husband and I are both professional hunters, and our jobs are our passion. We have a luxurious little lodge in Namibia that offers everything a hunter can dream of.
My passion is to expand opportunities for women hunters—and their families. It is so much more rewarding to see couples or families succeed. I am glad your site pays attention to women hunters, and will do anything in my power to get more women talking about their experiences in the bush.
