Huntress Spotlight
Darlene Galbraith

In October 2007, Darlene shot this bull bison weighing between 2000-2400 pounds. She used a .300 Weatherby Magnum firing 180-grain Triple Shock X Bullets. This bullet was clocked at around 3040 fps. The shot was taken at 200 yards, as measured by a laser rangefinder. It took more than one shot, but most passed completely through the animal—for some reason, the guide wanted her to take a lung shot rather than a heart shot. This is only her second animal; the first was a blesbok she shot in South Africa with the same load and bullet. The animal fell as though struck by lightning! After measurement, it qualified for the SCI book.

Thank you for your time and help.
