Huntress Spotlight
Connie Craft

I live in Wyoming. At a very young age, I acquired a passion for the outdoors from my parents, Bill and Ione Craft. For 45 years, my family owned the Paintrock Lodge, a guest ranch in the heart of the Big Horn Mountains. In 2007, dad and mom turned over the reins of their outfitting operation to new owners. My heart will forever belong to the Big Horns. I am so grateful to have grown up in the environment my parents provided. It made me the person I am today.

Currently, I am employed as national sales manager by Hi Mountain Seasonings in Riverton, Wyoming. I have been with the company for more than six years. I am blessed to be able to bring my passion for hunting, fishing and the outdoors to my career. My background has opened doors and brought me opportunities I’d never dreamed possible.

In 1994, I initiated the Becoming an Outdoors Woman (BOW) program in Wyoming. Each summer this very successful workshop brings women from all over Wyoming and neighboring states to the Whiskey Mountain Conservation camp near Dubois to learn and perfect their skills in a wide range of outdoor activities.

Last fall I harvested the antelope and mule deer featured in the photos. They were both taken with Barnes Triple-Shock 85-grain bullets from my Remington .243 rifle. This was the first mule deer buck I have harvested, and it was an unforgettable experience.

While my daughters Emily and Nikki have chosen not to hunt, they enjoy fishing. We have shared many afternoons together on the lake in front of the lodge, or in nearby streams catching brookies and making memories. I look forward to sharing my passion for the outdoors with grandchildren some day.
