Here is a picture of a deer my daughter, Samantha, shot on the 5th day of her hunt. After chasing several bucks, this was the one she wanted. For a first buck, it’s a great deer—3×4 antlers with one broken off. The deer weighed more than 200 pounds.
The 85-grain TSX bullet did a great job. Samantha made the shot at 235 yards, with the deer standing almost broadside. The bullet shattered the right shoulder paddle, took a chunk out of the spine and still exited through the left side. I was hoping to recover the bullet recovery, but had no such luck.
