Director, Product Management and Marketing – Handguns
Develops market entry strategy and then leads the Handgun business in the key categories of Marketing and Product Development by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate staff members.

•Directs and manages profit and loss initiatives for the handgun business.
•Develops KPI’s for the business and over deliver sales targets, and gross margin.
•Establishes expectations for each team member and holds them accountable for meeting/exceeding targets in support of the overall health of the business.
•Develops market entry strategy for the handgun business through use of: market data; end user research; competitive intelligence and market dynamics.
•Will eventually direct and manage all product management activities and provide direction for effective product positioning in marketing communications efforts.
•Develops and tracks three year product road and implements user driven new product strategy.
•Develops world class new product introduction plans to maximize industry impact.
•Champions and leads as voice of customer regarding product strategies and overall marketing strategy
Monitors competitive strategies and implement plans to combat those strategies.
•Grows the handgun business organically through well defined strategies; including recommendation of acquisitions of companies that align with and are sustainable, within established business objectives.
•Develops and executes comprehensive strategic plans for the profitable management of pricing, gross margins, collateral materials and point-of-purchase.
•Maintains awareness of trends in the industry and related industries to incorporate those trends into successful new product launches.
•Directs and coordinates activities of department or division for which responsibility is delegated to further attainment of goals and objectives.
•Reviews analyses of activities, cost, operations, and forecast data to determine department or division progress toward stated goals and objectives.
•Confers with Chief Marketing Officer and other management and administrative personnel to review achievements and discuss required changes in goals or objectives resulting from current status and conditions.
•Develops product forecasts, taking into account the seasonality of products, and life cycles.
•Communicates forecasts to manufacturing facilities for planning purposes.
•Develops and implements pricing strategies to maximize profitability for the organization.
•Directs, coordinates and evaluates the business unit, including supervising one employee.
•Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable Federal and State law.
•Interviews, hires and trains employees; plans, assigns and directs work duties; appraises performance; rewards and disciplines employees; addresses complaints and resolves problems.
Skills and Education Required:
•Masters degree (M.A) or equivalent; or more than 10 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
•Marketing and product management of handguns.
•Ability to read, analyze and interpret the most complex documents.
•Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints.
•Ability to write speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques or style. Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
•Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
•Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
•Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
•To perform this job successfully, an individual should have working knowledge of SAP Inventory, Manufacturing and Order processing systems.
•Proficiency with Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
•Ability to execute quickly by leading strategic efforts which are understood and valued by departmental employees is paramount.
•Ability to cultivate and maintain employee engagement is essential.
•Ability to see the “big picture” and to effectively utilize company systems in pursuit.
