Current Openings:

Manufacturing Engineer Technician

Duties:
Responsible for generating work instructions necessary to produce: both saleable products and internally used equipment and tooling
Responsible to help keep all work instructions, blueprints, and resident plans current and updated to the latest technologies and practices
Assist in brainstorming sessions and in the troubleshooting of production problems
Manage data in SAP; such as B.O.M.’s and routings
Help in equipment design and/or reverse engineering
At times may be called on to operate machinery, or otherwise assist Production, Maintenance or Quality Assurance personnel
Sorting, cataloging, copying, data entry, paper and computer filing and other clerical work
Other sundry activities in the role of assisting the Manufacturing Engineering department
Duties and on the job training will be geared towards advancement into future Manufacturing Engineering roles/openings
May be required to travel, attending offsite training or trade shows, etc. and interface with customers and suppliers
May be called upon after hours, weekends or during 2nd or 3rd shifts, if necessary to support production
Company Safety procedures and practices must be followed and viewed with respect and willing compliance

Qualifications:
Associates Degree in Engineering or equivalent work related knowledge/experience required
Proficient knowledge of the computer programs: Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook and SAP
Knowledge of Auto-Cad, SolidWorks, SurfCam or other CAD/CAM programs is a plus
Basic knowledge of and/or experience with machining, electrical, welding, plating, heat-treating, Electrical Discharge Machining and general metalworking such turning and milling is beneficial
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail are a must
Must be teachable and obtain a basic understanding of all departments within the company related to Production, Lab and Quality
Must have their own hand tools such as wrenches, pliers, sockets, screwdrivers, electrical multi-meter, etc. and measuring tools such as a good quality 0-1” micrometer (resolution in 1/10,000ths of an inch) and a pair of 8” calipers. Should also have reference books such as the Machinery’s Handbook or equivalent.
Ability to speak, read and write in the English language sufficient enough to perform the following:
>Communicate effectively with other team members and supervision
>Read and comprehend process instructions

Safety Shoes meeting OSHA/ANSI Z-41 specifications are required for anyone working in the production department. Anyone working on the ammunition loading equipment or working in the Ballistic Lab are also required to have electrostatic dissipative (ESD) shoes.

Ballistics Lab Technician

Duties:
Handload and function/accuracy test Barnes bullets
Develop load data
Assist with R&D projects
Record and summarize test data
Firearms maintenance
Lab cleanup & maintenance
Shift work may be required on an as needed or permanent basis
Must be willing and able to working overtime when necessary

Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
Working knowledge of firearms, reloading, bullets, ammunition and their various end-use applications is helpful, but not required
Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical procedures and regulations
Ability to record data and write reports legibly and correctly
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from supervisors and managers
Ability to work with basic mathematical concepts (e.g. multiply, divide, add, subtract) and fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
Email, MS Word and Excel helpful
Highly organized and able to follow procedures
Self-starter, able to communicate and work independently and effectively within cross-functional teams
Sound analytical skills and acute attention to details, adept at creative thinking and problem solving
Passionate about the business opportunity and strong interpersonal communication skills

Physcial Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to climb stairs, stand while working through a 10-hour shift, and must be able to lift and carry 75 pounds.

Good hygiene and grooming habits, long hair must be pulled back, no loose clothing or exposed midriff’s, closed toed shoes required

Tools: Lab Technicians are expected to supply their own basic hand tools as well as a good quality 0-1” micrometers and 6” caliper (.001 increments) for bullet inspection. Additional tools may be required as the job progresses.

Ammunition Loading Operator

Duties
Responsible to setup, operate, and understand the mechanical aspects of the Camdex loaders, manual reloading presses and bullet/casing collators.
Must be able to accurately inspect bullets, cartridges and primers visually and dimensionally, using the appropriate tools in the reloading department.
Have a clear understanding on the procedures for the reloading department.
Must follow production schedule, including setups, testing and running to ensure maximum production and excellent quality.
Must be able to listen and follow instructions from supervisor and management.
Ensure that all procedures and documentation of travelers, including traveler face, pick tickets, inspection record, etc…are filled out and adhered to consistently and correctly.
Stay updated throughout the day on the operations of each area.
Ensure that setups are pulled ahead of schedule in order to maximize efficiency.
Review maintenance logs and daily checklists.
Shift work may be required on an as needed or permanent basis.
Must be willing and able to work overtime when necessary.

Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent is preferred
Operating knowledge in all areas of the reloading
Must have excellent communication skills
Must be able to clearly communicate requisitioned needs for tooling and supplies to the appropriate supervisor in a timely manner
Must have good math skills, i.e. addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
Good reading skills and be able to follow procedures correctly
Must be able to record all necessary paperwork legibly and accurately
Must be alert, aware and able to follow company safety policies
Punctuality and reliability is a must
Ability to speak, read and write in the English language sufficient enough to perform the following:
Communicate effectively with other team members and supervision
Read and comprehend process instructions
Record pertinent process information as required

Tools: Machine Operators are required to supply their own calibrated 1″ micrometer. Barnes can direct successful applicants on where to purchase these tools and also train the correct use of them.

Rotary Press Operator

Duties:
Operate the PK Blender
Operate the Scales
Operate the Rotary Press
Record Raw Materials Inventory information
Complete production records (Traveler)
Keep the rotary press area clean and neat
Shift work may be required on an as needed or permanent basis
Must be willing and able to work overtime when necessary

Qualifications:
High school diploma or G.E.D is required
Some experience operating a tablet press is preferred
Must have good reading skills, must be able to follow written procedures correctly
Must have good writing skills and be able to fill out paperwork correctly and legibly
Must have good math skills, i.e. addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
Must be able to communicate effectively with management and peers
Good mechanical aptitude
Must be computer literate with some computer operating skills
Must be punctual and dependable
Personal Tool Requirements: (Including but not limited to) (These tools must be calibrated and kept in good working order) 0-1” micrometer (.0001 increments) and 0-8” caliper (.001 increments)
